Remember what Super Smash Bros. did for the Wii and Beat 'em ups? Combining the traditional beat em up template with elements of platforming to create a whole new and distinctive game. This title was highly popular, and the good news is that the same developers are currently working on a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles version; TMNT Smash Up
Said to follow the same basic mechanics as Super Smash Brawl, in that the environment in which you fight can be manipulated for or against you, players must not only fight their opponents but navigate the often treacherous battle areas also.
A lot of emphasis has been put into reacting the the environment and using it in various ways. For example, planting your weapon into the wall can save you from a fatal drop. Speaking of weapons, its also possible to lose yours or steal your opponents mid-battle! Aside from the turtles, and other fan favourites such as Casey Jones and Shredder, the developers have hinted that a number of new and unexpected characters are set to be introduced into the arena.
So strap on your multi-coloured bandanas and get excited for what could be the best new fighter to emerge on the Wii this year- TMNT Smash up!
