2008's Best Wii Games
2008 was a great year for consoles, not least of which was the Wii. Here we take a look at the best the Wii had to offer;
#5: De Blob
A game based on ink blobs? Sounds crazy right? Well, maybe so- but darn fun all the same! Your objective is basically to go from level to level, plopping yourself into different colors of paint and spreading color across a dull, grey city in a bid to combat the overbearing grey inkblobs. This game supports multiplayer you so and your friends can get involved in the messy action!
#4: Guitar Hero World Tour
The Wii welcomed the latest title in this hugely popular franchise to mass critical praise. Introducing downloadable content to the mix, World Tour allows four way play online and supports Mii tour, adding a cute yet extremely addictive option to the guitar strumming mayhem! Throw in all the usual perks and excellence associated with the earlier games and you have an extremely worthy package!
#3: Mario Kart Wii
Mario and friends (and a few enemies!) return in the shamelessly enjoyable Mario Kart Wii, bringing the crazy karts to the interactive arena. This latest installment for the Wii introduces a mix up on the vehicles, allowing some players to utilize bikes, and also introduces online play to the game. This function has been a long time coming and doesn't disappoint; we can't think of a game more suited for online play!
#2: No More Heroes
Join Travis Touchdown for a crazy tale of otaku loser turned assassin of assassins, as our anti hero uses his internet-secured lightsaber to off the competition.
Traversing an open ended world either by foot or by motorcycle, the fighting in this title is fast, frantic and combo-orientated. Players also make extensive use of the Wii remote to grapple and deal with foes in this game orientated for the mature Wii player.
#1: Super Smash Bros. Brawl
The brawl is on once again as a higher number of your favourite gaming characters unite with one goal in mind- to smash! Choose from old favourite Mario to gruff and tough Solid Snake- the choice is yours (go with Snake!)
Much like other sequels on the Wii, Brawl is the first in the series to support online play, a feature that fans have been crying out for for years. So if you're after the perfect light hearted beat 'em up, this title is definately a must!
